Where it started
I’ve enjoyed table top games for as long as I can remember. Growing up it was board games like Concentration, Checkers, Chinese Checkers, and Monopoly. And card games like Hearts, Gin Rummy, and Spades.
As I got older I discovered Customizable Card Games (CCG) like Star Wars and Magic the Gathering. And as I got even older I started discovering that I was only tapping the surface of what is available to table top gamers.
I could write an entire post on why I enjoy table top gaming and how, for the most part, I enjoy it over video games. Suffice to say for now that I really enjoy the social apsect of getting together with my family and / or friends playing games in the same room.
My wife loves table top gaming as much as I do. Sometimes, I feel like she likes them even more than me. My kids are enjoying just as much as we are and keeping them entertained with table top games in today’s digital world is a testimate to the games’ playability.
I’ve really started growing my collection as of late. In the near future, look for posts dedicated to each game where I’ll talk about each in more depth and also try and provide a family friendly rating based on what we’ve experienced with our kids, who are 12 (boy), 9 (girl), and 8 (boy).
